Description
The
Great Gildersleeve was one of radio's first spin-off
shows. Harold Peary had played several roles on Fibber McGee and
Molly, including various pompous
characters with the last name Gildersleeve. In 1941, The
Great Gildersleeve debuted and ran for several seasons, ending
in the 1950s. This set is one of three children's albums
narrated by Peary. Some of the stories were also released
individually in beautifully illustrated bi-fold sleeves.
